Early Life

Bill Goldberg was born on December 27, 1966, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA to parent Ethel and Jed Goldberg, in a Jewish family. His mother is a classical violinist and his father was a doctor. He has two elder brothers, Mike Goldberg and Steven Goldberg and a sister Barbara Goldberg.

He was raised in his hometown along with his siblings.

Talking about his education, he joined Tulsa Edison High School in Tulsa. He completed his graduation from Harvard University. He was fond of playing football from an early age. He also became a bouncer at the young age of 16.

Career

Goldberg started his career in football. He got a scholarship to play for Georgia Bulldogs football team where he played as a defender.

He played football for the Los Angeles Rams and Atlanta Falcons from 1990 to 1994.

He ended his career in football as he tore his lower abdomen off his pelvis and didn’t obtain the level of achievement that he desired.

He then started his career in wrestling as an alternative to football. He made five appearances in the WCW power plant in which he won four matches.

In 1997, he debuted in an episode of Nitro where he defeated Hugh Morrus.

Goldberg started earning fame after WCW began counting Goldberg’s consecutive wins on television. With the win over Saturn, he gets his 74th consecutive win.

The next match on Nitro was against Raven who was the reigning United States champion. After defeating Raven, he got his first wrestling championship.

After he recovered his arm injury in 2002, he went to Japan and joined All Japan Pro Wrestling. His brilliant performance in Japan earned him to sign for WWF which is now known as WWE.

In 2003, he signed a contract with WWE and debuted in the episode of Raw against, “The Rock”.

He became the World Heavyweight Champion after defeating Triple-H. He lost his title to Triple-H after reigning it for 89 days.

He also won the WWE Championship title after defeating Brock Lesner where Steve Austin was the Guest Referee. In 2017, Lesner was WWE champion and challenge Goldberg for the title.

He accepted the challenge and in Survivor series, he defeated Lesner in 1 minute and 26 seconds and became the WWE champion.

In January 2018, Goldberg was announced the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2018.
