Anthony Davis is an American professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans and currently Los Angeles Lakers. He plays in the power forward, and center positions. Davis was first selected in 2012 NBA draft by New Orleans and is a five-time NBA All-Star.
He has been named to three All-NBA First Teams and three NBA All-Defensive Teams. He has also won a gold medal with Team USA in 2012 Summer Olympic.

Anthony Davis was born on March 11, 1993, in Chicago, Illinois to parent Anthony Davis Sr. and Erainer. Davis is one of the tallest basketball players in the country with six feet and eleven inches. Davis is an American national of African American ethnicity with Afro-American roots.
He has a twin sister, Antoinette, and Lesha, who is also a basketball player.
Davis joined the Perspectives Charter School and played basketball for the school team. Davis and his teammates went to a nearby church for practice as his school does not give much attention to athletics.

Anthony Davis started playing basketball in his early childhood age. While in high school, he was selected for the 2011 “McDonalds All-American Game”. Davis joined the University of Kentucky.
He played for his university basketball team, the “Kentucky Wildcats”, under coach John Calipari. Davis delivered great performances in his college days too.
In 2012, Davis was selected in US national basketball team that was to participate in the 2012 Olympics. The team won a gold medal in which they defeated Spain in the final match. He was also the part of the team which won the gold medal in the ‘2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup’.

In the 2015-16 season, Anthony Davis signed a five-year contract extension with the New Orleans Pelicans.
